CIRCULATION SECTION
Library circulation or library lending comprises the activities around the lending of library books and other material to users of a lending library. A circulation or lending department is one of the key departments of a library. Circulation section is the heart of the library. This section performs as a bridge between the user and the documents.
The circulation section and its functions are semi-automated using the library management software MODERNLIB . Each student can take 8 books for each semester. Each books can be renewed up to three times to each student.
Functions
- Lending materials to library users
- Checking in materials returned
- Monitoring materials for damage and routing them to the appropriate staff for repair or replacement
- Charging and receipting overdue fines.
- Registering and managing the patron details.
- Renewal of the materials to the books.
- Registration and managing the patron details.
- Responding to the user queries.
